Description:
At 525 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Phoenix, or near Leland, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Wilmington, Leland, Rich Inlet, Figure Eight Island, Hampstead,
Northwest, Hightsville, Cape Fear Community College North Campus,
Wilmington International Airport, Murrayville, Rocky Point, Castle
Hayne, Phoenix, Scotts Hill, Ogden, Riegelwood, Mayfaire,
Wrightsboro, Batarora, and Windemere.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 406 and 416.
Interstate 140 between mile markers 15 and 20.
