Description:
At 328 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Vardaman, or 10 miles west of Houston, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Houston, Okolona, Calhoun City, Vardaman, Derma, Pyland, Houlka, New
Houlka, Van Vleet, Parkersburg, Thorn, Reid, Loyd, Thelma, Buena
Vista, and Tabbville.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
northeastern Mississippi.
