Description:
At 1019 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms extending from near Gilliam to 5 miles south of
Deberry, or extending from 21 miles north of Bossier City to 12 miles
northeast of Carthage, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Shreveport, Bossier City, Greenwood, Blanchard, Waskom, Benton,
Mooringsport, Belcher, Elysian Fields, Deberry, Cross Lake,
Bethany, Jonesville, Spring Ridge, Caddo Lake, Keithville, Dixie
and Alden Bridge.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
