Description: 
At 211 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Brooklyn to 9 miles south of Madisonville. Movement was east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Gulfport, Biloxi, Slidell, Long Beach, Mandeville, Picayune, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Pass Christian, Poplarville, Eden Isle, Diamondhead, Pearl River, Abita Springs, Lacombe, Saucier, Mcneil, Kiln, Pearlington, and Lyman. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 259 and 273. Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 41. Interstate 12 between mile markers 64 and 84. Interstate 59 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 11. Interstate 59 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 35.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for southeastern Louisiana...and southern Mississippi.
