Description:
At 245 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Sherburne, or 10 miles southwest of Flemingsburg,
moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Morehead, Flemingsburg, Owingsville, Cranston, Ramey, Pecks Ridge,
Reynoldsville, Wyoming, Peasticks, Moore's Ferry, Triplett, Flat
Creek, Christy, Odessa, Hilda, Pebble, Sharkey, Slate Valley, Muses
Mills, and Wallingford.
THIS INCLUDES Interstate 64 in eastern Kentucky near mile marker 119,
and between mile markers 122 and 149.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 AM EDT for
east central Kentucky.
