Description:
At 257 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Newnans Lake to 6 miles northwest of
Beverly Hills. Movement was northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Gainesville, Ocala, Palatka, Rainbow Lakes Estates, Crescent City,
Interlachen, Pomona Park, Hastings, East Palatka, and Salt Springs.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Jacksonville.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for northern and
northeastern Florida.
