Description:
At 239 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Columbiana to Consul. Movement was east at
40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Selma, Clanton, Valley Grande, Goodwater, Rockford, Kellyton,
Selmont-West Selmont, Stewartville, Weogufka, Thorsby, Autaugaville,
White Hall, Orrville, Billingsley, Benton, Dollar, Bradford, Gap Of
The Mountain, Parnell, and Tyler.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for central, south
central and east central Alabama.
