Description:
At 100 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Holly Pond to near Blount Springs to
Sumiton to 6 miles northeast of Bankhead Lock And Dam. Movement was
east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Birmingham, Gadsden, Vestavia Hills, Anniston, Oxford, Mountain
Brook, Trussville, Gardendale, Pell City, Jacksonville, Irondale,
Leeds, Moody, Rainbow City, Fultondale, Oneonta, Attalla, Hokes
Bluff, Springville, and Odenville.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for central,
northeastern and east central Alabama.
