Description:
At 1157 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Yellow Bluff to 3 miles
east of Wagarville. Movement was east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Monroeville, Jackson, Camden, Frisco City, Grove Hill, Peterman,
Leroy, Whatley, Excel, Beatrice, Vredenburgh, Fulton, Repton, Yellow
Bluff, and Pine Apple.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for south central
and southwestern Alabama. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect
until 700 AM CDT for south central Alabama.
