Description:
At 143 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Randolph, or near Pontotoc, moving northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Tupelo, Pontotoc, Baldwyn, Trace State Park, Saltillo, Guntown,
Bruce, Mantachie, Ecru, New Harmony, Pratts Friendship, Randolph,
Troy, Banner, Tula, Blair, Furrs, Paris, Sherman, and Thaxton.
This includes Interstate 22 in Mississipppi between mile markers 66
and 96.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CST for
northeastern and northwestern Mississippi.
