Description:
At 118 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Paris, or 8 miles southeast of Oxford, moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Oxford, New Albany, Water Valley, Ecru, New Harmony, Etta,
Springdale, Tula, Denmark, Pinedale, Paris, Sherman, Thaxton, Myrtle,
Taylor, Toccopola, Blue Springs, Shari, Hortontown, and Keel.
This includes Interstate 22 in Mississipppi between mile markers 53
and 76.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CST for
northeastern and northwestern Mississippi.
