Description:
At 950 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Camp Bowie, moving northeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Brownwood, Early, Bangs, Blanket, May, Zephyr, Lake Brownwood State
Park, Camp Bowie, Ridge, Regency, Locker, Owens, Spring Creek, Indian
Creek, and Harkeyville.
Instruction:
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
