Description:
At 349 PM EST, a strong thunderstorm was over Hog Mountain, or 8
miles northeast of Lawrenceville, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind, nickel sized hail and frequent cloud to
ground lightning.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Gainesville, Buford, Braselton, Auburn, Flowery Branch, Oakwood,
Hoschton, Pendergrass, Talmo, Candler, Thompsons Mill, Chateau Elan,
Chestnut Mountain, Road Atlanta-Lanier Speedway, and Hog Mountain.
Instruction:
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
