Description:
At 650 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Tampico to near Altona. Movement was east
at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Strong winds could break small tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Strong thunderstorms will be near...
Kewanee, Galva, Annawan, Tampico, and Deer Grove around 655 AM
CST.
Sheffield around 700 AM CST.
Walnut around 705 AM CST.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 25 and 59.
Interstate 88 between mile markers 29 and 30, and between mile
markers 37 and 44.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
