Special Weather Statement
Urgency:
Expected
Effective:
March 6, 2026 - 2:58am
Expires:
March 6, 2026 - 5:00am
Description:
Areas of fog will continue affecting much of south central and
central Nebraska through around 7 or 8 AM, with this fog focused
within a relatively narrow zone to the north of a warm front, and
to the south of an approaching cold front. Although visibility
will vary across the area, some places could experience a few more
hours of dense fog reducing visibility to at least 1/2 to 1/4
mile, before the advancing cold front helps to scour it out and
improve visibility.
Given that the coverage of truly dense fog with visibility 1/4
mile or less is somewhat limited across the area as a whole, and
that any dense fog should not last more than a few hours in any
given location, a formal Dense Fog Advisory is not anticipated.
However, please use caution this morning if encountering any
dense fog while driving. Slow down, turn on your headlights, and
leave plenty of distance in front of you.
