Across the Capital Region, eastern and central Mohawk Valley and Schoharie County, temperatures will continue dropping to around the freezing mark through 10 PM. This will allow rain to change to freezing rain over the next hour or two, and will cause ground surfaces will become icy with hazardous driving and walking conditions developing. Motorists and pedestrians should remain vigilant to icy ground surfaces through this evening as freezing rain develops. Elevated roads such as bridges and overpasses, and highway on and off ramps will be particularly vulnerable to icing, as well as parking lots and other untreated walkways.
