Description:
At 404 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Cook Lake, or 12 miles north of Sundance, moving northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Belle Fourche, Beulah, Fruitdale, Aladdin, Bear Lodge Campground,
Belle Fourche Reservoir, and Cook Lake.
This includes Interstate 90 in Wyoming between Mile Markers 200 and
205.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
If on or near Belle Fourche Reservoir, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
