Description: 
At 647 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Fishing Creek Reservoir, or 10 miles southwest of Lancaster, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Springdale, Kershaw, Elgin, Heath Springs, Irwin, Liberty Hill, Lake Wateree State Park, Fishing Creek Reservoir, Bell Town Fire Station, Mitford, Faith Christian School, Pleasant Hill, Kershaw Correctional Institution, Lake Wateree near Highway 97, and McDonald Green Elementary School. This includes Interstate 77 between mile markers 46 and 50.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
