At 356 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Irwin, or near Lancaster, moving southeast at 20 mph. ...Boaters on Lake Wateree Should Seek Safe Harbor... HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 to 45 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Lancaster, Springdale, Kershaw, Elgin, Heath Springs, Westville, USC Lancaster, Irwin, Liberty Hill, Mt Pisgah, Longtown, Lake Wateree State Park, Ridgeway, North Central High School, Bell Town Fire Station, Mitford, Faith Christian School, Smallwood, Bear Creek Park, and McDonald Green Elementary School. This includes Interstate 77 between mile markers 31 and 50.
