* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 603 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated rain has mostly ended across the Charleston peninsula. Emergency management officials report a number of roads in Downtown Charleston are flooded and closed. City inundation sensors indicate water levels are still rising in spots as water continues to drain throughout the city. While additional flooding is unlikely to occur through 645 PM, conditions will remain hazardous across the downtown area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Downtown Charleston, Medical University Of South Carolina, Marion Square, Columbus Street Terminal and The Citadel.

Do not drive around police barricades. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
