Description: 
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the following counties, Edgefield, Lexington, Richland and Saluda. * WHEN...Until 1100 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 749 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Columbia, Lexington, West Columbia, Cayce, Irmo, Forest Acres, Batesburg-Leesville, Springdale, Highway 6 at Lake Murray Dam, Red Bank, Oak Grove, St. Andrews, Dentsville, Johnston, Arcadia Lakes, Ridge Spring, Ballentine, Harbison State Forest, Columbia Metro Airport and Riverbanks Zoo. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3. Interstate 26 between mile markers 97 and 115. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 48 and 81. Instruction: 
Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
