The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a
* Snow Squall Warning for...
Lafayette County in west central Missouri...
Johnson County in west central Missouri...
* Until 500 PM CDT.
* At 421 PM CDT, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from near Lexington to 7 miles northeast of Creighton,
moving northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
greater than 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar and webcams.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.
This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 30 and
62.
Locations impacted include...
Warrensburg, Odessa, Higginsville, Lexington, Knob Noster, Concordia,
Holden, Whiteman Air Force Base, Waverly, Wellington, Leeton, Corder,
Alma, Chilhowee, Kingsville, Blackburn, Mayview, Whiteman Afb, Lake
Lafayette, and Centerview.
Instruction:
Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.
