The National Weather Service in Duluth MN has issued a * Snow Squall Warning for... Northwestern Cook County in northeastern Minnesota... Northern St. Louis County in northeastern Minnesota... Northern Lake County in northeastern Minnesota... * Until 845 PM CDT. * At 758 PM CDT, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to near Soudan Underground Mine State Park to 9 miles south of Cook, moving east at 70 mph. HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts up to 35 mph. SOURCE...Radar and webcams. IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes especially along Highway 1 and 169. Locations impacted include... Ely, Lake Vermilion, Gunflint Lake, Babbitt, Tower, Winton, Basswood Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Near Trout Lake, Birch Lake, Burntside Lake, White Iron Lake, Saganaga Lake, Sea Gull Lake, Fall Lake, Snowbank Lake, Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Robinson, Forest Center, Soudan Underground Mine State Park, and Bear Head Lake State Park.
