At 555 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles north of Kirkland, or 13 miles southwest of Hollis, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. A storm-scale circulation is observed about 12 miles northeast of Childress across the rural part of the county. It is possible that a tornado could be produced as the storm exits Childress county along the Red River. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Childress and Kirkland.
