At 1145 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Starr County Memorial Hospital, or over Rio Grande City, moving southeast at 30 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR STARR COUNTY!. HAZARD...Softball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured. Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs, siding, and vehicles. Locations impacted include... Rio Grande City, La Rosita, Starr County Memorial Hospital, La Puerta, Ringgold Middle School, Los Alvarez, Fort Ringgold County Park, Garceno, Starr County Sheriffs Office, and Rio Grande City Municipal Airport.

This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. This storm is producing destructive winds and large damaging hail.
