Description:
At 1112 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Pittsville to near Camp Springs, moving east at
40 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Eden...
Reidsville...
Wentworth...
Mayfield...
Callands...
Axton...
and Harrisons Crossroads.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 PM EDT for north central
North Carolina...and south central, central, southwestern and west
central Virginia.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
Prepare immediately for DAMAGING WINDS. For your safety, move to an
interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away
from windows.

size, as well as reports of any wind damage, including downed trees
or large limbs, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free
