Description:
At 207 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Maple Hill to St. James, moving northeast at 70 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect wind damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Surf City, Figure Eight Island,
Hampstead, Boiling Spring Lakes, Topsail Beach, Maple Hill, Myrtle
Grove, Masonboro, Scotts Hill, and Ogden.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for southeastern
North Carolina.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office in
Wilmington at 1 800 697 3901.
