Description:
At 1102 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Gibbstown to Bridgeton, moving northeast at 50
mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 10:54 PM, Lower Alloways Creek gusted
to 62 MPH.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Philadelphia, Camden, Vineland, Gloucester City, Cherry Hill,
Evesham, Mount Laurel, Willingboro, Deptford, Voorhees, West
Deptford, Glassboro, Lindenwold, Bellmawr, Woodbury, Burlington,
Pitman, Clayton, Riverside, and Berlin.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
This severe thunderstorm may contain little or no lightning. Do not
wait until you hear thunder before taking cover.
