Description:
At 837 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 8 miles northeast of Slayden to near Mt Pleasant to
near Barr, moving northeast at 65 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Senatobia, Holly Springs, Wall Doxey State Park, Lamar, Como, Snow
Lake Shores, Mt Pleasant, Harmontown, Bethlehem, Michigan City, Red
Banks, Laws Hill, Barr, Canaan, Independence, Slayden, Marianna,
Hickory Flat, Ashland, and Potts Camp.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 22 in Mississipppi between mile markers 16 and 57.
Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 254 and 265.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern
and northwestern Mississippi.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
storm shelter or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
