Description:
At 717 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Ellicott City to near Columbia to near Rossmoor,
moving east at 60 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Emergency management.
IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to
fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage
homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed
trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured
light objects may become projectiles.
Locations impacted include...
Columbia, Gaithersburg, Olney, Ellicott City, Aspen Hill, Montgomery
Village, Redland, Scaggsville, Cloverly, Burtonsville, Derwood,
Fulton, Spencerville, Highland, Washington Grove, Laytonsville,
Brookeville, Clarksville, Henryton, and West Friendship.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for northern,
central and north central Maryland.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Sterling Virginia.
