Description:
At 752 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over New Boston, or
11 miles west of Aledo, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Wapello, Morning Sun, New Boston, Oakville, Toolesboro, Amber, Elrick
Junction, and Snively Access Campground.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northwestern
Illinois...and southeastern Iowa.
This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive
hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should
move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
