Description:
At 1135 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near East Chicago to Sauk Village to near Peotone,
moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Hammond, Gary, Merrillville, East Chicago, Schererville, Hobart,
Highland, Munster, Griffith, Dyer, Portage, New Chicago, Ogden
Dunes, Crown Point, Burns Harbor, Cedar Lake, Porter, Chesterton,
South Haven, Beverly Shores, Town of Pines, Winfield and
Valparaiso.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
