Description:
At 1044 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Gulivoire
Park, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, Gulivoire Park, Osceola, Lakeville,
Roseland, Indian Village, Wyatt, and Woodland.
This includes Interstate 80 in Indiana between mile markers 78 and
87.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT for north central
Indiana.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.
