Description:
At 918 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 15 miles east of Uptown to Worth, moving northeast at
45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Chicago, Hammond, Calumet City, Englewood, South Shore, Roseland,
Chicago Lawn, Oak Forest, Harvey, Blue Island, Dolton, Homewood,
Alsip, Chatham, Auburn Gresham, Ashburn, Hyde Park, South Holland,
Evergreen Park, Country Club Hills, South Deering, Midlothian, Hazel
Crest, Riverdale, and Markham.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern
Illinois.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
