Description:
At 907 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Riverdale to near Manhattan, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Hammond, Tinley Park, Calumet City, Chicago Heights, Lansing, Harvey,
New Lenox, Munster, Park Forest, Homewood, Matteson, Mokena,
Frankfort, Steger, South Holland, Country Club Hills, Dyer, Hazel
Crest, Richton Park, Sauk Village, Flossmoor, Frankfort Square,
Lynwood, Glenwood, and Crete.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northeastern
Illinois.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
