Description:
At 814 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles northwest of Minooka to near Mazon to near
South Streator, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Streator, Morris, Channahon, Minooka, Braidwood, Coal City,
Marseilles, Diamond, Seneca, Gardner, Wenona, Mazon, South Streator,
Braceville, Grand Ridge, Godley, Ransom, Carbon Hill, Rutland,
Kangley, Long Point, Verona, and Kinsman.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for north central
and northeastern Illinois.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
