Washington County in south central Illinois...
* Until 645 PM CDT.
* At 551 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Marissa, or
10 miles northwest of Sparta, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Lively Grove, Johannisburg, New Memphis, Damiansville, Oakdale,
Okawville, Addieville, Covington, Bartelso, Posen, Nashville,
Beaucoup, Hoyleton, Ashley, Hoffman, Richview, Irvington, Wamac and
Shattuc.
This includes Interstate 64 in Illinois between exits 34 and 61.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for a portion of
south central Illinois.
