Southern Macoupin County in southwestern Illinois...
* Until 545 PM CDT.
* At 509 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Dorsey, or
near Bethalto, moving northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Brighton, Bunker Hill, Royal Lakes, Pruett, Dorchester,
Wilsonville, Staunton, Sawyerville, Mount Clare, Benld, East
Gillespie, White City, Gillespie, Eagarville, Mount Olive and
Hornsby.
This includes Interstate 55 in Illinois between exits 41 and 44.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for a portion of
southwest Illinois.
