Northern Wayne County in south central Illinois...
* Until 645 AM CDT.
* At 552 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Salem to near Mount Vernon, moving northeast at
60 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated. This storm also produced a 65 mph wind
gust at Salem, IL.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
* Locations impacted include...
Cisne and Johnsonville.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM CDT for south central
Illinois.
