Description:
At 1054 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Quincy
Regional Airport, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Mendon, Fowler, Quincy Regional Airport, Paloma, Coatsburg,
Columbus, Camp Point, Chatton, Golden, La Prairie, Clayton and
Kellerville.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1200 AM CDT for a portion of
west central Illinois.
