...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY FOR MUCH OF
NORTHEASTERN WYOMING AND WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA...
.A combination of very warm temperatures, low relative humidities,
and gusty winds will result in critical fire weather conditions
through this evening. A cold front will cross the region this
evening into tonight, resulting in a few light rain showers,
rising humidities, and a switch to breezy northerly winds.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Red Flag
Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in
effect until 9 PM MDT this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 327 Butte County Area.
* WINDS...North 15 to 25 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity,
and very warm temperatures will produce critical fire weather
conditions.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
