...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM MDT /10 AM CDT/ TO 6 PM MDT /7 PM CDT/ SATURDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 325, 326, 332, 333, 334, AND 335... .Gusty southerly winds with poor overnight RH recovery, especially across south-central South Dakota, will persist into the morning hours. Winds will shift southwesterly with gusts 25 to 45 mph, with occasional gusts in Tripp County to 50 mph. Relative humidity will fall to around 10 percent Saturday afternoon as temperatures warm into the 70s. The warm temperates, gusty winds, low RH, and persistent drought conditions will result in critical fire weather conditions Saturday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 325 Custer County Plains, 326 Pine Ridge Area, 332 Badlands Area, 333 Bennett County Area, 334 Mellette and Todd Counties and 335 Tripp County. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 11 percent. * IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity would produce critical fire weather conditions.
