Description:
The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 10 AM to 9 PM CDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In South Dakota, Clark, Codington, Grant,
Hamlin and Deuel.
* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. The
strongest winds will be in the morning, before slowly
diminishing in the afternoon.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 19 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control or suppress.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
