...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FOR THURSDAY...
The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.
* WINDS...Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph
this afternoon. North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
on Thursday.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 13 percent this afternoon, and as
low as 20 percent on Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
