...Critical Fire Weather Conditions Expected Friday...
Another period of critical fire weather conditions is expected
across portions of northeastern Colorado on Friday. While winds
will not be as strong as today, persistent wind gusts to 25 mph
and ongoing dry conditions will allow fires to start and spread
rapidly.
...RED FLAG WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND
AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 252 AND 253...
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 252 Yuma and 253 Kit Carson.
* TIMING...From 11 AM to 7 PM MDT Friday.
* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent.
* IMPACTS...Unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop
may rapidly grow and spread out of control.
Instruction:
Comply with burn bans and regulations. Avoid driving on dry grass
or brush. Maintain vehicle brakes and tires and secure tow chains
to avoid dragging. Never toss lit cigarettes onto the ground.
