The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from noon to 7 PM CST Friday.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 084 Morton.
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 7 PM CST this
evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 7 PM
CST Friday.
* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 13 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any ignitions will have the potential to grow into
wildfires rapidly, and any wildfires will be difficult to
control. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
