Description:
At 743 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles southwest of Benton City to near
Roosevelt. Movement was north at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Prosser, Grandview, Mabton, Goodnoe Hills, Bickleton, and Hanford
Reservation.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 82 between mile markers 72 and 94.
Interstate 84 between mile markers 114 and 122.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM PDT for
north central Oregon. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch also remains in
effect until midnight PDT for south central Washington.
