Description:
At 705 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
northeastern Warm Springs Reservation, or 20 miles north of Madras,
moving northwest at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Warm Springs Reservation, Simnasho, and Pine Grove.
This includes Highway 26 between mile markers 69 and 96.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM PDT for
central and north central Oregon.
