Description:
At 626 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Willowdale to 9 miles north of Lexington.
Movement was north at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Condon, Ione, Lexington, Antelope, Shaniko, Ashwood, Cecil, South
Junction, Mayville, Willowdale, and Clarno.
This includes the following highways...
Highway 197 between mile markers 65 and 66.
Interstate 84 between mile markers 168 and 169.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM PDT for
central, north central and northeastern Oregon.
