SVRMFR The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... South central Lake County in south central Oregon... * Until 315 PM PDT. * At 241 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Vee Lake Trailhead, or 22 miles northeast of Lakeview, moving west at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... South Fork Crooked Creek Trailhead, Valley Falls, and Vee Lake Trailhead, and portions of highway 395 between Lakeview and Abert Lake.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
